THE GOLD FEVER - LA FEBRE D´OR (Xavier SiS)
(IN ENGLISH BELOW)

(ORIGINAL TEXT ABOVE IN CATALAN)
Hi, Darryl, quite interesting the scene at Sala Parés... Thanks for sharing it!
Can't add much more. I found it funny that the two ladies would arrive in a "coupé" (which must have been a carriage for rich people) in front of the art gallery. Their chauffeur must have been very skillful to drive the carriage through such a narrow street as Petritxol street...
Am enclosing you an image of Sala Parés, around the time of the novel (it opened in 1877) :
On a curious note, the Masriera painters -who are mentioned in that scene- they had their workshop in a building located in our neighborhood, at Bailèn Street, between Consell de Cent and Diputació Streets. This was the workshop of the Masriera Brothers:
Now the Town Hall has bought this building and is planning to open a Cultural Centre.
