LA DOLCE VITA (1960)  Película que consta de una serie de episodios independientes entre sí que giran en torno al personaje de Marcello Rubini (Marcello Mastroianni), periodista de cotilleos que actúa como voyeur a veces y como protagonista en otras. Decimos “independientes” porque lo  sucedido en cada uno de estos episodios no se comenta ni se recuerda en los demás.  Nosotros hemos contado hasta 14 “episodios independientes” que constituyen otros tantos segmentos del filme, cuyo orden –creemos-, se podría modificar sin que se perjudicase la comprensión del filme salvo el episodio final, el nº 14, que creemos que cierra el film –por lo que, creemos, que dicho episodio final no debería cambiar de orden-. Nuestra enumeración de hasta 14 “episodios independientes” tiene carácter indicativo, porque las divisiones y subdivisiones que se han llevado a cabo por la crítica de esta película, rozan “ad infinitum” (así, por ejemplo, entre escenas diurnas y nocturnas en Wikipedia;

    THE WATER DIVINER: this is a romantic epic, filmed Hollywood style, which will delight audiences, but as an Aussie movie –meaning the likes of “Gallipoli”, “Breaker Morant” or even “The Light Horsemen”- fails utterly.     To begin with, there are two plots in this movie: one is about the journey of a Father -the “water diviner”, who  looks for water wells in the Outback- to find out the whereabouts of his three sons who went missing in Gallipoli, concretely, at Lone Pine –an important battle in the Australian memory-. In this reviewer’s opinion, that quest was enough of a plot to carry on through the whole film.      But then, this movie has been coproduced (or maybe paid for entirely?) by Turkey -and there is a lot of “political correctness” to show for it - and, besides the father´s quest of his three sons, there is another plot about how the Turkish army rebelled against the decadent Ottoman empire –guilty for bringing Turkey´s defeat in WWI- under the inspiratio
